This focus area aims to enhance income generation while reducing environmental pressure by promoting resilient and diversified livelihood systems. The project supports sustainable agriculture through agroecology, crop diversification, soil management, and climate-smart practices that improve productivity and resilience. In fisheries, it encourages responsible resource use through improved techniques and community-based management to prevent overexploitation. Vanilla production is strengthened through training in cultivation, quality control, and value chain development, improving market access and income stability. The initiative also promotes small-scale enterprises such as agro-processing and handicrafts, particularly for women and youth. Support includes entrepreneurship training, microfinance access, and business development services. By linking sustainable production with market opportunities, the project fosters economic growth, food security, and environmental sustainability.
